M.Com - Master of Commerce

Masters of Commerce is a two-year post-graduate level course ideal for candidates who wish to make a career in banking financial services and insurance (BFSI) as well as accounting and commerce sectors. The two-year course delves deeper into the functioning of the economy, capital, revenue, trade, taxes, etc. taught in B.Com. MCom is a very versatile course and gives the students to choose their careers in various fields.

Since M.Com is a specialised area in itself, only those candidates who have pursued B.Com or B.Com (H), can pursue the course. M.Com is also a good option for CA/CS candidates. However, not many CA/CS aspirants pursue MCom as CA/CS courses can only be pursued after Class 12.

M.A - Master of Arts

MA or Master of Arts is a postgraduate programme in arts. MA can be pursued by students after completion of their bachelor's degree. The degree is offered in various specialisations at various colleges and universities in India and abroad. It is a two years duration course and can be pursued by candidates who possess a graduation degree. The degree can be pursued as a full-time course, part-time course, correspondence or distance mode.

B.Com - Bachelor of Commerce

This programme is a three-year degree course which is not subject specific and the candidate can choose a combination of subjects apart from the few core subjects. In BCom, the same courses are taught extensively along with a specialisation which makes it a more popular option among students. Unlike technical and vocational courses, BCom (H) is offered at almost all the universities and its affiliated colleges across the country in regular as well as distance education mode.

Apart from accounting & commerce and banking, finance & insurance, BCom is the best course option for a career in management, teaching, advertising, journalism, mass communication, law, design, public sector, etc. BCom is the ideal choice for CA and CS aspirants.

BA - Bachelor of Arts

Bachelor of Arts or BA is an undergraduate program in arts. There are various disciplines such as English, Hindi, History, Journalism and Psychology in which BA can be pursued. The course can be pursued right after passing class 12th in India. Usually, a three-year course Arts programme is offered by colleges under various streams such as Design, Mass Communication,Hospitality. BA (Hons) or BA course can be pursued in a full-time, part-time, correspondence or distance education mode. It is mandatory to study five subjects along with few elective subjects. The subjects will vary depending on the selected subject.
